Pre-requisites 

Upper Beginner Cantonese 4, OR understand the use of commonly used final particles, able to change the tone/mood of a sentence by using different final particles, give directions, explain your favorite movies in Cantonese, and a basic familiarity of Jyutping.

About this Course

The longer you study Cantonese, the more you learn that it is a fun and dynamic language.

Whether you had taken other Cantonese classes in the past, or grew up speaking Cantonese with families but now need more structures to express your thoughts, this Level 5 Intermediate Cantonese course is perfect for those of you who are looking to advance your Cantonese speaking and reading proficiency.

In this course, you will be introduced with more colloquial and idiomatic expressions in different settings, and also learn how to form integrated sentences to explain your thoughts better. You will also get more familiarized with the application of tones and Jyutping, one of the standard Cantonese Romanization systems that is commonly used today.

After studying this 8-week course, you will be able to ask and answer hold a more complicated conversation with your families and native friends as well as writing short paragraphs.

Writing

There will be 15 minutes in each session that is used to study traditional Chinese characters.
